Light heavyweight title holder Chad Dawson (27-0, 17 KOs) is set to rematch Antonio Tarver (27-5, 19 KOs ) live from The Pearl inside Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, March 14, 2009. The match will air live on HBO’s “World Championship Boxing.”
This rematch finds the two fighters who last met October 11, 2008 going head to head with Tarver attempting to win back his title. Tarver, who had a rematch clause in his contract, set the rematch in December 2008 and recently announced the rematch to take place in the same location as the original fight. In October, Dawson took Tarver for 12 rounds, scoring a knockdown in the final round with the official scores of 118-109, 117-110 and 117-110, all in favor of Dawson .
The Pearl Box Office is open from noon – 7 p.m. daily. Doors will open at 4:00 p.m. and the first bout will take place at 4:45 p.m. The main bouts will be live on HBO at 7:30 p.m. PST. HDNet to air full MMA schedule for this Friday and Saturday, January 23 and 24
HDNet Fights today announced their Mixed Martial Arts broadcast schedule for this Friday and Saturday, January 23 and 24, airing on HDNet. The full schedule features the television debut of "Affliction: Banned" and the exclusive broadcast of the five fight under card for the "Affliction: Day of Reckoning" event.
